The National Day of Castile is the 23rd April. On that day the castilians meet every year in the town of Villalar, province of Valladolid, to commemorate the fact that in that day in 1521 took place the battle for the freedom and independence of Castile. The nationalists known as The Comuneros faced the troops of foreign emperor Carlos I (V of germany) and lost the battle. Since then, Castile is under the control of the spanish estate. Villalar is the place were the castilians came every year to claim for their selfgovernment, just in the same place were they lost it.
