contact@eurominority.euHi,
I'm a young man from spain, and I casually found this page... I became a great surprise when I couldn´t find the castilian minority within the spanish State: our language is castilian (not spanish, like most of people believe, "spanish" is the term for the language spoken in most of South America, see the spanish constitution and you will see the official language is that, allthough all spanish people use it to understand themselves).
Castile is de only nation in Spain wich is not recognized by public institutios or legal means, they all believe we are only "spaniards" or something like that. but the truth is our legal nationality is spanish, but the cultural nationality is the castilian one. If the other nations in spain (Galiza, Catalonia, Basque country, Andalucia...) have the institutional recognicement... Why can't we castilians have the same?
we have a historical flag (pendon morado), a great past (the castilian kingdom was who paid Cristopher Columbus and discovered America, not Spain, cos' this State exists legally only since 1700), we have a cultural heritage, traditional institutions and we are the only people in Sapin which have not institutional protection.
CASTILIANS ARE THE REAL MINORITY IN SPAIN and would be fantastic that this european organization know about the unprotected situation of our culture, which is an original one, often confused with the "spanish culture", that would be the mixture of the cutures of the different nations in the spanish state.
Thank you for your attention and you time.
